Financial Services Research Centre

The Financial Services Research Centre (FSRC) was founded in 1995. Over the past thirty years, the main objectives of FSRC have been to:

Offer a combination of workshops, seminars and conferences to facilitate interaction among finance researchers.
Review and select the highest quality of useful databases and other research resources on behalf of faculty members and graduate students.
Forge ties with other research institutions, universities, governments and private sector organizations.

The main activities to accomplish these objectives are:

The FSRC Seminar Series where finance speakers from the most prestigious universities around the world share their latest research.
Brown bag seminars where Lazaridis faculty and PhD students present working papers to obtain feedback from colleagues.
Access to finance and accounting databases used by Laurier faculty and students, including the Wharton Research Data Services platform. We also collaborate with Prism Resources in managing Bloomberg terminals at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, and with the Laurier library in its efforts to manage Lazaridis journal and database subscriptions.
Partnering with Duke University to include Canada in the Global Business Outlook Survey for the first time.
